Great access, great service but poor food

I am a carer or friend of a disabled person. I have experience of challenges around: hearing and moving around.

Overall Rating

Poor

Broadwood Farm is a nice family venue with great access for everyone, but the food quality lets the restaurant down.

Disabled Access In and Around

Good

Broadwood Farm offers superb access and has plenty of seating for wheelchair users, there are two sections of seating that have steps to access them but this is not a major issue as there is plenty of other seating throughout and the staff will happily rearrange seating if needed.

Parking & Transport

Excellent

Broadwood Farm offers a large car park for customers with 3 disabled bays to the left of the entrance, however there are other parking bays that would offer easy access

Accessible Toilets

Average

The toilets are in the enteranceway to the restaurant with the disabled toilet on the left, it can be difficult to access if busy. On a previous visit the toilet was locked from outside and you had to ask staff for access, no radar key system is in use. This time though toilet was unlocked. The toilet does have enough space go get in but would pose a challenge for a carer to assist. They do have a red cord but this was trapped behind the grab rail hinge, and was unable to free it.

Staff

Excellent

The staff will often do anything to assist, we had issues with our meals and notified the staff and they dealt with the issue swiftly. We were also offered excellent seating that have us plenty of space for transferring from wheelchair to a comfy seat at the table,

Additional Information

The food was a major let down on what was a great visit. The turkey was overcooked but also didn't taste as it should, the beef was full of fat. Unless we hear of improvement to the food I doubt we would return.
