Overview

I went to the cafe with my Grandpa when a lot of the cafes were shut it was also raining so i was in desperate need of a warm drink. The coffee was great and the serves was good but fortunetelling that,s where it ends. My Grandpa started to a conversation with the lady who served us by saying nicely how much I liked baking and that I was really good at it. The lady then went on to ask if i had trained anywhere I said that I had gone to Leeds College when she ask what I am doing now. When I mentioned that I come to a place called Disability Action Yorkshire she ask why is it called that my Grandpa then went on to explain was it was , she then said that she was an English teacher in the past and that I did not look like someone with a disability. We then went on to explain that is why I have the sunflower lanyard and my badges she seamed to not really understand what it is really used for because she said that people use them for breathing difficulty or to get out of wearing a mask. I don,t think that any of it was said to sound mean but due to the lack of understanding and training It left me leaving what started as lovely visit feeling hurt and upset.
