Caffè Nero

Generally speaking, I like Caffe Nero. Their branches have a wide choice of types of seating and good coffee and snacks. But in this branch, accessibility needs improvement. The first problem is actually getting in. Narrow double-doors, both of which are quite heavily spring-loaded, and are so narrow that both need to be opened to allow a wheelchair to pass through them. There is a bell-push, to attract the attention of the staff - but let’s be real, if they are all busy serving customers they are not going to break off from that task in order to let you in. So your best option is to dragoon some passers-by into holding the doors open for you. My other main gripe concerns the accessible toilet. An adequately sized room with everything you need except space. As you can see in the second photograph, the transfer area to the right of the toilet is filled with bins. There is plenty of other places in the toilet to store them but somehow they always end up here.
