I used the Cambridge Street Car Park as I was attending an event at the nearby Hilton Doubletree hotel, a short distance from Glasgow's famous Sauchiehall Street. Navigating the car park was simple enough but the two manual doors to exit the building may be challenging for some. There are no alternative formats in use.
Disabled Access In and Around

On entry, you must roll down the driver window and press a button to dispense a ticket. The accessible parking spaces are not clearly signposted but you should notice them as you enter the car park because the bays are painted green. I pulled in forwards and found that my boot opened over the pedestrian walkway. It should also be noted that these bays are on an incline. At the top of the walkway there is a short ramp leading to another walkway with two ticket machines and the doors to exit the building. There are two consecutive doors, the first opening to the stairwell and lifts, the second opening to the street. Both doors are heavy. If using the stairs, you will find that there are handrails and the step edges have been painted bright yellow. The lifts are small and able to admit a powerchair user but you will need to reverse out. There is a mirror to help when reversing. The lift buttons do not have Braille markings and there is no hearing loop in the lift. On returning, you must insert your ticket into the machine. This will calculate the cost and prompt for payment. Cash and contactless payments are permitted. I did not have any issues using this service from my wheelchair. When exiting the car park, the barrier will lift automatically.
Accessible facilities: Step-free entrance, Lift to all areas
Parking & Transport

I travelled to this place by personal vehicle
The car park boasts an impressive 812 parking spaces, of which 10 are accessible parking spaces – that's less than 2%. The bays are wider than standard spaces but do not have hatched markings on either side. I would really have liked to see more accessible parking spaces. I did not use the EV facilities but I understand there are two bays that offer Type 2 7 kW charging. The charging ports are located on the wall and operated by ChargePlace Scotland. Cables are not provided.
Accessible facilities: Dedicated on-site parking, Electric Vehicle Charging
