Cathcart is a small station with one platform in the middle of the tracks. The platform is accessed via stairs leading up from an underpass. There is a lovely mural in the underpass, so although I was not able to take the train from there as a wheelchair user, at least I saw some art. There are no lifts or other means of step-free access to the platform. I was not able to get to the platform to check what facilities there are, but the ground floor does not have staff, a ticket machine, seating or toilets. The underpass connects a dead end off Clarkston Road and Delvin Road. The Delvin Road side has a ramp up with handrails on both sides.

There is no wheelchair access to the platform, there are about 30 steps up. The stairs have railings on either side and in the middle. There are tactile markings on the steps, at the bottom of the stairs and on the ramp. There are remains of contrast paint on the steps, but they have mostly worn away.

I travelled to this place by personal vehicle

The wee lane off Clarkston Road had cars parked on one side of the pavement and no lowered curbs at the entrance to the underpass, but it would work as a drop-off point if you can manage without the lowered curb. The closest bus stop is Holmhead Crescent (4, 4A, 6), which is a 2-minute walk or wheel away.
