Easy parking close to Blackpool Tower

If you are looking for parking nearer the middle of the Blackpool Promenade, this car park is an easy option if you do not want to worry about stairs, doors and barriers. There are disabled parking bays around to the right when entering the car park, 4 by the coach station and 13 on the side of New Bonny Street. There are also 4 electric vehicle charging points that are well-spaced, although the terminals are awkward to reach in a wheelchair. I was visiting during the off season and there was plenty of parking available, but I can imagine that the car park fills up quickly during busier times as it is not that big. In that case, the multi-storey car park next door is a good backup.
Disabled Access In and Around
There is a short ramp up the curb leading up from the car park to the coach station close to the car park entrance. There are four disabled parking bays close to that ramp. The EV chargers are a bit further to the left of that ramp. They have space marked out in between the bays for easier access. The electric vehicle charging points, however, have bollards in front of them and are fairly high up, so that they are not easy to reach from a wheelchair. The best workaround I could think of would be to go over and up the ramp and access them from the sidewalk/the back. They do not have built-in cables, so you need to have your own. There are QR codes to pay with ScanPay. As a pedestrian you can access the car park via the lowered curbs on New Bonny Street, where there is level access to the blue badge parking spaces, or use the sidewalk to the right of the driveway into the car park (Seasider’s Way). Unfortunately there are no pedestrian crossings and lowered curbs on Central Drive opposite Seasider’s Way. There are lowered curbs with tactile markings and a pedestrian crossing passing the coach station.

The car park is right next to the Central Coach Station and a multi-storey car park, which also has disabled parking and EV charging facilities. The Central Surface Car Park is a 0.2-mile/5-minute walk or wheel from the Tower tram stop, 0.3-mile/6-minute walk or wheel from the Central pier tram stop and 0.8-mile/17-minute walk or wheel from Blackpool North train station.

There are paid public toilets next to the car park. The accessible toilet only accepts coins, the other toilets are through a turnstile.
