Located on Milliken Road near the onramp to the A737, this eight-space car park provides slow charging facilities for two cars but, as with many EV chargers, access has not been given much consideration.

The charging bays are no wider than a standard space, which presents a challenge for those using mobility aids. The width of the bays creates a risk of being boxed in by a neighbouring car, and the lack of space to the rear makes retrieving a wheelchair from the boot difficult if your charging port is at the back. The terminal is elevated on a plinth, blocked by bollards and set back on the grass, which is far from ideal. Cables are not provided, adding yet another barrier to a poor facility. Pretty disappointing in an area that has so few charging options. There are no alternative formats in use.

The car park has 8 standard bays and two EV charging bays. The machine provides 7 kW Type 2 charging, which makes it more suitable for local residents than for a boost when you're on the road. The closest fast charging facilities can be found at Tesco Linwood which at least has a shop and toilet facilities.

Another disappointing EV charger...
