A stone's throw from the seaside, and close to the Monifieth Activity Centre - which has a library, a lovely coffee shop and a play park, this location is one of the nicer EV charging spots to visit. There is also the option of grabbing a coffee from Wellground Cofee, a coffee caravan you will find parked on the grass near the chargers while you wait.

There is a dropped kerb up to the pavement on which the chargers are installed, leading down to the sea, and a second dropped kerb leading to the park and the Monifieth Activity Centre. The roads and pavements are in good condition, although the pavements were quite sandy.

The site offers three types of charging across eight bays. There are two 51 kW CHAdeMO sockets, two 51 kW CCS sockets, and six 22 kW Type 2 sockets. All the charging units are installed on the kerb, with the two right-most units also on a plinth, raising them further from the ground. Both of these chargers have a bollard at the end of the parking bay, which you may need to navigate around. The second charger from the left has two bollards at the front, making it difficult to tap your card. The charger furthest to the left has two panels over the charging sockets and is awkward to reach from the parking space, as the card reader is quite high. If you are ambulant and able to connect the charging cables yourself, this location is fine. For those unable to do so, however, this is another site with little thought given to accessibility. All spaces are the width of a standard parking bay, so it is easy to get boxed in. The left-most charger borders an accessible parking space on its left side. If this charger is suitable, it may be the best option to use, as it provides wider access on at least one side of your car.

Accessible Toilets

The nearby Monifieth Activity Centre has both accessible toilets and a Changing Places toilet. I haven’t rated these here, as they are not operated by ChargePlace Scotland.
