Cherry Orchard House provides a mix of 52 affordable one and two-bedroom apartments, plus one bungalow supporting older and younger people who may live with dementia, learning disabilities, autistic spectrum disorder or sensory impairments.

The development was designed with the assistance of the residents. It provides lovely views over the Avon Meadows Community Wetlands and boasts many on-site accessible facilities including a restaurant, bird watching room, salon, garden and activities rooms which are available to residents, their friends and families and the general community. There are also regular activities and groups each week – such as bowling, darts, knit and natter, art sessions, bingo and coffee mornings. (There are even weekly visits from the local first school, who take part in activities with the residents.)

Residents are able to visit the bustling town, which for most, is within walking distance of the scheme. As an independent living scheme, residents are able to come and go as they please but they have the peace of mind that there is always someone available, should they need assistance. Unfortunately car parking is limited however on street parking is available.

For those residents who require support, the care workers are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, helping residents to retain as much independence as possible, for as long as possible. Care is tailored to the needs of each person, provided within their own home and can range from a little help daily to support throughout the day and night time. There is even a part time well-being nurse available for residents to keep on top of their Heath worries. Staff are assisted by Local volunteers. The home ensures high quality independent living for the residents of this scheme.
