Overview

We decide to visit the cathedral while staying in the area. Unfortunately parking in the city isn’t great. Although there are plenty of car parks all multi storey. blue badge holders have to pay to park which isn’t cheap. The car park we used was easy to access the city centre and cathedral. Lift in the car park takes you straight out to the shopping area. Access from the car park all level. Although parts of the centre are cobble stone but overall getting from the centre to the cathedral was easy lower kerbs etc. As our visit was on Sunday, we had to wait a few minutes for the service to finish. Access to the cathedral is easy no steps , floor is flag stone. Once inside there are slopes to get you to the main part of the Cathedral which is just about fully accessible . Only one small part that has steps which I couldn’t get to. There was information about various points of Interest in the cathedral. We had lunch in the refectory which was very good sandwiches made to order. Plenty of space to get about in my scooter. Overall very impressed with the ease in which I could get around the cathedral and refectory. Would visit again .

We only found multi storey car parks the one we used had easy access to the centre and cathedral. The downside is parking isn’t cheap and blue badge holders have to pay .

Access to and around the cathedral and d refectory very good. Floor is flag stone so easy for my scooter. It’s mostly on one level, there are slopes to get from the entrance and to the refectory and shop. Lots of seats available if you wanted to stop and admire the roof or windows.
