Overview

Located near to the Chiemsee, Germany's largest lake, this is a new property designed for accessibility. The owners cater both for groups and individual families. It's a lovely area with wildlife in the fields outside but also close to the facilities at the lake. Salzburg is 45 minutes away and Berchtesgaden is a 30 minute or so drive. Lots of restaurants and breweries in the area, small towns and countryside. The house has two ground floor apartments that are properly barrier free. There is a wheelchair lift to the upper floors. We stayed in the family apartment which was well equipped with our own outdoor space. The owners have a care background and worked with an architect to design the building - they also provide equipment if it's needed and are very helpful. They can arrange carers if required. Well thought out, comfortable accommodation in a lovely area. We plan to return. Website is https://chiemsee-barrierefrei.de/

Transport & Parking

Plenty of parking outside. Close to the autobahn. Although we drove there are good bus and train services locally.

Access

Full level access to ground floor, power door to building and wide doors internally. Wheelchair lift to other floors.

Toilets

Toilets had grab rails and space to manoeuvre.

Staff

Very pleasant and helpful, owner speaks fluent English and German.

No ceiling hoists but mobile hoists available together with profiling bed.
