Chillingham Castle

This castle's website states that due to its age and uneven floors it will be difficult for disabled people .Frankly, it is a DISGRACE. There is a rope rail on the spiral stairs to the Tea Room. The loos are also here and no sign of an accessible loo anywhere. The rooms are dark and dirty ,the museum is littered with old pieces of threadbare carpet, a real trip hazard. No markings on exterior steps. One feels that the intention is to cock a snook at accessibility legislation. It needs an urgent visit from Health and Safety , all the piles of junk sorted and thrown out. A job for either National Trust or English Heritage.
