Lots of space but tricky machine access

These two charging bays were located at the end of a dead-end street, providing a quiet location with more space than you would usually expect at standard charging stations. At the time I visited the signage said there was a 1 hour limit and no return within 2 hours. The spaces were laid out in a similar style to most accessible parking bays, offering much more space around the bay to exit the vehicle, including cross-hatching at the base of the bay for vehicles with ramps at the rear. However, the positioning of the charging machine and sockets was still problematic for anyone needing step-free access. This charging station is located at the end of Pleasant Road but I noticed on Zapmap it was called Alexandra Road charging station. They are the same charging station.
Disabled Access In and Around

The two bays had cross-hatching between the two of them and at the base of the bay, providing the amount of space you would get in an accessible parking bay. Around the outside of the bays was the pavement which had a small kerb. There was a dropped kerb on one side of the road to allow step-free access to the pavement. The charging machine itself was located on the pavement. It had a socket on either side of it - one for each bay - and a card reader point on the front, facing the road. Unfortunately, it was set too far back for me to be able to reach anything from the parking bays themselves, and there was not enough space for my wheelchair to get to the front of the machine to use the card reader. For someone needing step-free access, they would need to plug their cable into their vehicle, leave it on the pavement by the charging point, gain access to the pavement via the dropped kerb, come back around to the charging station, pick up the cable from the floor and then attach the cable to the socket. The socket was also quite high up. From my seated position, I would have needed to raise the cable above my head to reach it. These were Type 2 sockets and 22kW chargers.

Swansea Railway Station is 300 metres away. 30 metres up the road is the Orchard Road bus stop where you can get the 20 bus. 60 metres away is another bus stop of the same name where the following services stop: 4, 4A, 25, 28, 36, 91, 111, N91, X6, X11, and X13.
