Such a cool place to visit - wish we could have spent longer there. Good lunch - plenty of activities to keep kids occupied. And a lovely second hand bookshop’
Disabled Access In and Around
There is so much to do here that a review can't do it justice - go and take a visit! There are maps all over the place which show trails you can meander along. There is an accessibility shuttle - unfortunately not running the day we visited - but has regular stops throughout the grounds. We had a great lunch in the cafe - great to have all the different rooms and furniture - eclectic mismatch! Really impressed by the more 'purpose built' areas for kids activities - the spaces that have been developed with dedicated learning spaces for nature and wildlife incl sheets, maps and checklists for you to take away and do either on site or afterwards. There are sensory packs available from the main information point in the Laundry Yard. There's also a Sensory Room but this was closed when we visited. At the end of our visit we checked out an exhibition with all the names and dates of previous owners - really interesting to find out more about the people that have lived in the estate and its history.
Parking & Transport
I travelled to this place by personal vehicle
Clear signage to accessible parking. Accessible parking is a lot closer to the main activities and there is a decent amount of it too. You come out near the Tramper hire and where the accessibility vehicle picks you up. This is near Laundry Yard / Turning Yard etc.
Accessible Toilets
There is an amazing Changing Places toilet right at the heart of activities - next to the play park.
Staff
so very cool - particularly for kids. Will definitely visit again.
