Excellent
I accessed from the rear, via The John Muir Walk, where there is a lift to all floors, and went to the first floor Café for coffee and home made cake (well you have to) which was delicious!! and overlooks the peaceful wild garden. Such a lovely setting and the volunteering staff members made me feel very welcome.
Disabled Access In and Around
Good
The staff are just about to put up signs for disabled access and are smoothing over some bumpy areas. Overall I had no problems going where I wanted to.
Parking & Transport
Good
Parking is at the rear and on street.
Accessible Toilets
Good
There are toilets on most floors. I saw two on ground level which were large enough for wheelchair access and had bars.
Staff
Excellent
All the staff are volunteers and could not be more helpful. Very keen to show you round and inform you of forthcoming attractions.
Additional Information
Lots of exhibitions are held in Cockenzie House and there is an Art class on a Tuesday I was told. This is such a worthwhile visit and you must sample the homemade cakes and coffee?
