Venue Description

The Corinium Museum is located at the heart of Cirencester, the ‘Capital of the Cotswolds’. Our principal collection consists of the highly significant finds from the Roman town of Corinium. However, the museum today is much more than that, taking you on a journey through time and charting the development of the Cotswolds from its prehistoric landscape to the modern day. The light and modern galleries offer the visitor an exceptional interactive experience. The museum is renowned for its learning provision, with an education centre and temporary exhibition space that ensure a vibrant, changing programme of events and activities for everyone to enjoy, please see our website for more details. Fully accessible with a Cafe attached. A gift shop and the Cirencester Visitor Information Centre are on site.

• The museum has level access, throughout. • There are several seating areas throughout the galleries. • The museum is evenly and well lit with overhead lighting. • There is a lowered section at the welcome/ticketing desk. • There is a hearing loop system installed at the counter. • Wheelchair loan is available, free of charge, on request. • There is also an entrance to the Cirencester Visitor Information Centre and Shop. Entrance to this and the temporary exhibition space is free.

Toilets

• All toilets on site are easily accessible. • Toilets are located on the ground floor with level access from the reception area (opposite the temporary exhibition gallery). There are also two toilets by the Lifelong Learning Centre. • The toilets have light, easy open doors measuring 92cm wide. • The toilet height is 48cm • The toilets are well lit with automatic lights which switch on as you enter the room. • There are hand rails either side of the toilet. • Each toilet has an emergency alarm pull cord. • There are lever taps on the sinks.
