Don't start from the Montempdivre end or you will be trapped ! Make sure you have enough battery power for the diversions you may need to take.

Transport & Parking

Bus from our hotel to Bastille. You have to ask for the ramp by shouting "Ramp" to the driver. Tram most of the way back. Roll straight on. Very frequent on a Sunday afternoon (every 3-4 mins). Difficult to validate your ticket if you are in a 'chair on your own.

Access

Some of our party started from the steps behind the new Opera House at Bastille but we followed the road to look for the lifts. Both were out of order. Another local wheelchair user said they had been like that for 4-5 years. He told us about a zig-zag path in some gardens further along at the Jardin de Reuilly - Paul-Pernin but half way up the path there was a number of steps where the path had not been maintained. luckily my partner can walk a short distance. and I lifted her 'chair up each step. Once up we found that the footbridge section is now inaccessible as slats have been placed across it (Winter safety feature?). We used the local roads to miss out this section and met up with out friends after the viaduct was at ground level. The next section was a nice wheel / walk which included two short tunnels (cool on a hot day). At Montempdivre we were in a cutting but could see the trams above us. The tram stop is reached by a flight of stairs! We had to back track and find a unsigned but wheelchair friendly route.

Toilets

We didn't notice any loos that were open - accessible or not!
