With 11 rooms over 3 floors the Museum is famous for its display of Piper Bill Millins' D-Day bagpipes. Packed with artefacts. The displays in Dawlish Museum are regularly updated and depict life past and present in the town and notably tell the story of the February storm of 2014 which severely damaged the railway line. A vast archive of 100's of rare historical photographs can be seen in album form or on the PC. Children as well as adults are well catered for and there are many fun activities just for them,such as dressing up outfits,brass rubbing and the new cygnet trail.The museum is disability friendly with lots of rooms on the ground floor to visit with wheelchair access and easy access to toilet facilities.

Fascinating local history museum with step free ground floor access + friendly staff

Small, local history museum with galleries on 3 floors. There are displays on a variety of topics including the big storm of 2014 which damaged the railway line. There is also a small garden.

Disabled Access at Dawlish Museum

There is a stair-lift to the second floor and a folding wheelchair available for visitors to use for that floor. A ramp has been fitted to allow access to the Storm Room and there are seats available throughout the museum. There are a few steps down to the small courtyard garden outside but the side gate can be opened upon request to allow easier access. Wide access toilet facility available on ground floor.
