    About

Famous as the home of We Will Rock You between 2002 and 2014, the Dominion theatre is a Grade II listed building with a varied and colourful history as a cinema, variety hall and music venue before returning to its original function as a theatre in the 1980s. Famous productions at the Dominion include Time which featured a holograph of Laurence Olivier, Grand Hotel, Barnum, Beauty and the Beast and Notre Dame de Paris. In 2014 the Dominion underwent a multi-million pound renovation reopening on 16th September with a 7 week run of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s masterpiece Evita. In the two years that followed White Christmas (2014) and Michael Flatley’s Lord of The Dance (2015) graced the stage before Elf (2015) starring Ben Forster and Kimberley Walsh broke all previous Box Office records. In 2016 Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of the Worlds arrived at the Dominion for a 10 week run, followed by Beverley Knight reprising her role as Rachel Marron in a 6 month run of The Bodyguard: The Musical. The Tony Award-winning An American in Paris opened in March 2017.

    Great theatre

Just because it wasn't clear to me, I'll say first off that there is a Radar Key operated toilet in the upper left corner of the stalls. The theatre access list is easy to join online, and generally give a 50% discount to the member + 1 companion. In the stalls, the aisles are wide, and there is ample leg room in the seats. The only drawback was that the security was at all doors, and there didn't appear to be any way to join at the front of queue for bag searches like there is at most London theatres. Overall, a really great theatre.

    Dominion Theatre

We went to the theatre to see “American in Paris”. It was really good. The venue is wheelchair accessible and the staff were great. The theatre is in the centre of London and so surrounding areas are busy.
