Toilet: on right hand side of platform when you arrive from road. Through two heavy doors, not automatic. Staff member is very helpful with me getting here. No red cord card present, so a left one. Cannot do side on transfer as there's not enough room next to the toilet for my chair. Of toilet toilet dispenser. Two parallel bars on either side of toilet but quite far aparto probably not those one. Sink lowered and tiny, could not roll under. Hot water dispenser electric and cold water lever. Tap with vertical bar on right hand side of sink. Hand dryer, no paper towels, sanitary bin and waste disposal bin. Room large enough to get in but too narrow sight on wheelchair transfer Waiting room: seating along two walls, low metal seating with arms. Outdoor waiting space available on platform. Dog water bowls by ticket office, however they were a bit green without the! Roughly turned her nose up about them. Vending machine and photo machine will stop bin. Electric doors throughout with push buttons. All were functional. Buses leave from outside the station or up the road 150m beside the burns monument Find out more about buses on the Dumfries and Galloway council website Freedom taxis (wheelchair accessible taxi): 01387442021

    Accessible Toilets

This toilet shouldn't be labelled a disabled toilet. The room is too small to do a side to side transfer from any direction from a wheelchair, and the door was locked and had to be unlocked by a staff member. There was a red cord but it did not hang to the floor (I added a Red Cord Card anyway). There is a fold down grab rail on the left side, a horizontal grab rail on the right side and additional grab rails on the left that actually obstruct wheelchair access into the room.

The staff were helpful and clearly aware their toilet isn't great because I had to dissuade a staff member from waiting outside for me.
