I am a disabled person. I have experience of challenges around: a hidden impairment and moving around.

I bought my electric wheelchair a year and a half ago online from Etech Mobility (who very recently seem to have changed their name to Etech Motion). This was the second time I visited their Birmingham location for a service and repairs and their customer service keeps exceeding expectations. The venue is mostly the warehouse, but they have a little showroom, where you can try out the different models to help you decide which one is right for you. There is also an accessible toilet, which I did not use or look at, but I know there is no red cord. Since I need to travel from quite far away, I could not be very precise about when I would get there, but that was no issue when booking the appointment. I ended up being a few hours early, but I called ahead and that was also no problem. Even though the repair that was needed seemed quite substantial to me, it took just under an hour to make the chair good as new. We went to have lunch at a nearby mall in the meantime and got the call that my chair was ready for pickup before even finishing our meal. Thank you, Etech, for helping me to stay mobile!

I travelled to this place by personal vehicle

There are no Blue Badge parking spaces, but there are plenty of regular bays nearby, so finding a spot has never been an issue for me. Since the unit is in a dead end, there is no traffic really and you could easily do a drop off before parking as well. The nearest bus stop is Nechells Primary School (66), which is about a 0.2-mile/5-minute walk or wheel away.

The door to the showroom opens manually to the outside right. It is a single door, but fairly wide. There is a little ridged ramp leading up to it. The flooring inside is low carpet and there are two folding chairs close to the door to sit in as well as all the show models of course.

All my interactions with staff in person and on the phone or via email have been excellent. I have always been treated kindly and helped efficiently.
