Outdoors - Chapter 4

Great venue for shows, lovely restaurant and cafe/bar

4.5

Visit date:

This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Wheelchair

Overview

Building is fully wheelchair accessible, lifts to all floors, two options for accessible seats in the venue (option to transfer to seat or remain in wheelchair), plenty of well equipped accessible loos on all levels, helpful and accommodating staff. Some shows are preceded by curry option, others Mezzanine Restaurant - both excellent.

Transport & Parking

3.5

Easy car access, blue badge parking in dedicated car park by venue. Easy for wheelchair user, just be aware if you walk from car park that (a) it's about 100 m to the way in and (b) they urgently need to re-lay. lots of uneven paving slabs which are a potential trip hazard!

Access

4

Way in level (not withstanding uneven paving on route from car park). Lifts to all floors. I recall seating on all levels. Plenty of helpful staff everywhere. Nice smooth floors inside. Like lots of venues, doors inside were heavy and difficult to open but helpful staff to assist. Internal doors are my bugbear, hence star removed! External doors automatic/push button.

Toilets

5

Loos plentiful and on all levels. Clean , spacious, well equipped.

Staff

Restaurant staff made sure I could get into the space where my table was and helped stow my wheelchair. Ensured we knew where the lift was etc. Theatre staff checked I was happy to transfer and offered to remove seat if not.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

I visit G Live lots and think its a great venue. Brilliant shows and good food. Just get those paving slabs sorted! PostScript : I'm pleased to see all issues with wobbly paving slabs were resolved by the time I visited in October. Well done, G Live!
