Galashiels Railway Station is a small, single track station located just across the road from the Galashiels Interchange. The simplicity of the station makes it easy to navigate as you'll never find yourself on the wrong platform. Despite it's small size, access has been given thorough consideration and with a Changing Places toilet and accessible toilet just across the street it's not a bad offering at all.

The route to the station is relatively flat with traffic lights between the Interchange and the station. There are dropped kerbs and tactile paving on either side of the road. There are six steps to the right at the entrance with tactile warnings before the top and bottom steps and contrasting blue rails on either side. To the left there is a ramp with a slight incline and rails on both sides. The platform edges have tactile paving. Signage is limited but clear. Audible announcements are in use and departure information is displayed on overhead dotmatrix screens. The platform has a rain shelter with both high and low leaning benches and there is also a bench on the platform. The help point is within reach for many wheelchair users and a hearing loop symbol is displayed on the intercom.

There is no parking at the station but there is a car park on Stirling Street on the other side of the station. The nearby Galashiels Interchange bus station offers helpful bus links to the station. Regular bus services also run along Stirling Street.
Accessible Toilets
There are no toilets at this station but the Interchange across the road has both accessible toilets and a Changing Places toilet.
