Ginger the Horse is a wire statue and local visitor attraction in Greenock. Unveiled in 2011, this small horse is often overshadowed by its two much larger brothers, the Kelpies in Falkirk, which were also designed by Andy Scott. The statue commemorates the cart horses that once worked the local sugar refineries and docks. Ginger was in fact a real horse who drowned in an accident at the former Albert Harbour On a clear day, the Piazza is a pleasant spot to sit and enjoy a meal deal of your choice and admire this work.
Disabled Access In and Around
Good
With level access throughout, dropped kerbs on the station side and traffic lights with dropped kerbs and tactile paving at the entrance, the piazza is reasonably accessible. There is additional bench seating lining the walls near the statue. There are no alternative formats in use.
