Overview

Gorgie Farm Review Students from the Entry to Learning Level 2 course at Edinburgh College visited Gorgie farm as part of their Leonard Cheshire Can Do community review project. We had a tour round the farm from the very friendly and knowledgeable Francis. She explained to us facts about each animal and what uses they have on the farm. We then had hands on experience with some of the animals where we got to touch a turtle, a chinchilla, a guineapig and a bearded dragon lizard! Overall we gave it 4.5 out of 5 and would definitely recommend a visit! Comments from the class were; “Its Interesting to see animals and to be able to touch and find out about them” “The staff were really nice and the animals were friendly!” “Be prepared for the smell!!”

Transport & Parking

3.5

For us this was very simple with good bus access to Gorgie Road from town. We only had to go on one bus from the Milton Road Campus all the way to the farm. As far as we could see there was no on site parking. However there is free on street parking within a 5 minute walk.

Access

Be aware that the farm is mainly cobbled with has some tight areas and stairs so someone in a wheelchair may struggle. However there are alternate routes to avoid the stairs. Plenty of seating around the farm for rest stops.

Toilets

0

NO one used the toilet on this visit. They have a large hand washing station for after your visit which is useful if you have been touching the animals.
