Overview

Disappointed is all we can say. We left the A38 at Bromsgrove and took a minor lane up to the turn off for the Manor which is signed for you. It’s a long narrow lane with passing spots, but what a mess. The owner of this drive has left nature to do what it wants, the grass verges have not been cut, all sorts of weeds have been allowed to grow tall, it is not appealing at all, not what a bride would like to see. The owners of this Manor should really be having a chat with whoever owns that driveway, because we all know that first impressions are so important. It’s not until you are almost at the manor that someone has tidied up the roadside (photo 1) Tucked into the hedges a sign points the way to the Manor (photo 2) and you enter the drive for Grafton Manor (photo 3) but our thoughts was to just turn round and drive away. Why a bride would choose this manor remains a mystery, it needs the area to be tidied up, it’s a woman’s dream to be enthralled by the event, so I do hope that all the many weddings they say they hold here are successful, a good job must be done once a wedding goes ahead to attract would be mates. Sorry to go on about it, but it’s not for us, we will not be recommending a visit or a wedding here. However, let’s show you more, just in case you think it’s just old people going on a bit. A disabled persons car may park up alongside the boundary (photo 4) its level pressed down hard core, with lots of room for many cars. Ahead stands the Manor, and our thoughts was perhaps it’s not so bad (photo 5) and the lawn looks as if it is being looked after and shrubs have been pruned (photo 6) We then approached the entrance, and let’s say it’s old and historical (photo 7) but it is badly in need of repairs. As my husband is a retired owner of his own building and maintenance company, he was very disappointed with the owners and a lack of interest in maintaining this manor. By the way, we write our reviews together, so it’s his concern for you that has disappointed him. We noticed what some may say is a terraced corner (photo 8) but not appealing at all. The front entrance needs attention to say the least (photo 9) and at this point, someone came out to see if they could help us, and to advice us that today they were not open, and we were not disappointed to drive away, knowing we will never bother to come back to offer a more detailed review. Remember, this is our own personal thoughts about the building and area, we are just trying to let you know what we felt, others may think completely different about the manor, it may be worth your while to check out other reviews, but I do hope they will be honest reviews for you to read. There’s a lot of interesting history involved with the Manor, but it’s not worth while writing about, because of our disappointment with the Manor.

It has steps at the main entrance, but a ramp will be put down for you, then it’s easy enough inside, and a path will get you to the chapel.

Only met the one lady, she was friendly enough, and would help out.
