The Great Yorkshire Show is rapidly becoming known as one of the best agricultural shows in the UK, welcoming 140,000 people to the 250-acre showground. The four-day show celebrates agriculture, food, farming and countryside, with a respect for tradition while welcoming new additions. Expect show jumping with some of the best riders in the country competing including in the prestigious Cock O The North. There’s the best in Britain competing across the judging rings including cattle, pigs, goats, sheep, rabbits, pigeons, poultry. There’s cutting edge machinery and farming equipment showcased in the Lely stand and within the machinery lines. And we have hives and honey, forestry, a fabulous food hall, cookery demos, a garden show and countryside pursuits. There really is something for everyone, of every age and we look forward to welcoming you to our showground!

Disabled Access Information Provided by Great Yorkshire Show

Disabled Access at Great Yorkshire Show

The majority of walkways on the Showground are concrete, asphalt or gravel. Most of the buildings and access to the animal areas have ramps or are accessible by wheelchairs and mobility scooters. We also try to ensure that the grass avenues are well rolled to aid access around the Show. However, the Showground is on a sloping gradient which means that some degree of effort is required to push a wheelchair around the Show and from the car parks, which are mainly grass areas.

Accessible parking at Great Yorkshire Show

Sainsbury’s car park, off A661 Wetherby Road, is the designated disabled visitors’ car park with easy access to the orange entrance and a drop off/pick up point in the car park outside the orange gate. Local authority permits (Blue Badges) or Great Yorkshire Show disabled parking labels should be clearly displayed. Blue badge holders do not require a GYS label. Parking spaces cannot be reserved in advance and are available on a first come, first served basis. If the car park is full additional parking will be available in alternative areas.

Toilets features at Great Yorkshire Show

The majority of toilets on the Showground have disabled and baby changing facilities which are clearly shown on plans around the Showground and in maps which will be available during your visit. These facilities are constantly monitored by our Stewards and contractors for cleanliness. A changing facility for disabled children and adults is available in Hall 2. This has more space and includes a height adjustable adult-sized changing bench and hoist. Please visit our colleagues at the information point in Hall 1 and they will be able to arrange access.

Changing Places toilet

There is a Changing Places toilet, which includes an adult-size changing bench, toilet, sink and hoist.

Accessible toilet

A designated accessible toilet designed for wheelchair users and others with visible and non-visible accessibility requirements is available within the main public areas.
