There's just something wondrous about the entrance to the station. Going under those arches feels more like arriving at a castle than at a train station. Once inside, I found the station was rather modern, if not compact, but sometimes that's ideal - it's just a shame I could only access one platform! The station also has EV bays, accessible parking spaces and an accessible toilet.
Disabled Access In and Around

Starting with the ticket office, the access is great. There is an automatic door at the entrance, seating in the office, an adjustable counter and an active hearing loop. However, as I'm reviewing the station as a whole, I need to lower my score as it appears only platform 1 is step-free. This is the line for trains to Paisley and Glasgow. Platform 2, for trains to Gourock, is accessed via steps, which makes the station only partially wheelchair accessible. There is no lift between the two platforms. On platform 1, where you'll find the car park, there are shelters, seats, ticket machines, an emergency intercom and an assistance meeting point. The pavements are tarmacked. Information is provided on overhead dot matrix signs, audio announcements are used and a hearing loop is active. Both platforms have tactile paving at the edges.

There is a car park at the station with 21 standard spaces and 2 accessible parking spaces. The accessible parking spaces have hatched markings on either side and to the rear of the bays. There are also two EV charging bays which provide 22 kW Type 2 charging. Both bays are single width and the charging unit is surrounded by a low rail. Cables are not provided and, due to the layout, it's awkward to plug them in! Wheelchair users might also run the risk of being boxed in due to the lack of space between the bays. There is additional parking on Station Avenue leading up to the station, but it is uphill.

Accessible Toilets
Good
here is an accessible toilet at the ticket office, just to the left of the counters. The door requires a RADAR key to access. I forgot mine, but the staff had one on hand. The door to the toilet opens outwards and is secured from the inside by raising the handle. The toilet pan is on the rear wall and has contrasting rails on either side, but not a contrasting seat. There is space for a right-side transfer and, best of all, the transfer space is clear! There is a small sink with a lever-style tap and contrasting rails on either side. It's just a shame that there is no mirror above it. The installation of a colostomy shelf would also make a real difference.

Additional Information
f there was reasonable access to Platform 2, I would have rated this location much higher. As it stands, having accessible parking spaces but not being able to cross back to pick up your car on the return journey isn't especially helpful.
