Greenwich+Docklands International Festival (GDIF) is London’s leading festival of free outdoor theatre and performing arts and, in the words of The Guardian, makes an “unrivalled contribution to the happiness of the people of London”. GDIF is committed to breaking new ground in outdoor performance and raising the ambition, quality and diversity of outdoor work produced in the UK. GDIF forms part of the Royal Greenwich Festivals, an annual series of high-quality events organised by the Royal Borough of Greenwich to celebrate cultural vibrancy, and is the flagship annual event produced by FESTIVAL.ORG. GDIF events take place across the borough, from the beautiful historic setting of the Old Royal Naval College, to Eltham’s bustling high-street and the dynamic twin Woolwich locations of General Gordon Square and Royal Arsenal Riverside. We also put on events in the outdoor public spaces of Canary Wharf, the City of London, the Royal Docks, and Tower Hamlets. GDIF is free for everyone to enjoy. Typically, a handful of performances are partially ticketed each year because of capacity constraints but even at these we guarantee some free tickets to those with limited access to the arts.
GDIF welcomes all and endeavours to be accessible for everyone! We have worked with our artists and team to consider access at every stage of the process. Our friendly team of staff and volunteers are available for assistance and have been trained in Disability Equality. All shows and sites are relaxed and we invite audiences to feel at home in our company. Across multiple sites and across our events we take time to consider each site for inclusive practice.
