I am a carer or friend of a disabled person. I have experience of challenges around: moving around and speaking or communicating.
Overall Rating
Good
Great pub, good food and friendly staff. They've refurbished since covid and made the level access door a fire exit. This means you can't get in as a wheelchair user unless you're with someone who can use the door with a large step, to ask staff to open the fire door. We were a party of 3 so 2 waited at fire door while 3rd person went in & asked for assistance.
Disabled Access In and Around
Average
The public door has 1 x large step and the other door which is level without steps is now a fire exit. We had someone with us who entered the oub and asked for the fire exit to be opened. You wouldn't gain access if an independent solo wheelchair user. I didn't notice a bell or other means to ask for assistance.
Parking & Transport
Good
We walked as live locally but the pub is v near Haymarket train Station & has bus routes close ny.
Accessible Toilets
Good
There was a door which said 'accessible toilet' - we didn't use it so can't comment on size etc.
Staff
Good
Staff were helpful & friendly.
