Helmshore Mills are two mills built on the River Ogden in Helmshore, Lancashire. Higher Mill was built in 1796 for William Turner, and Whitaker's Mill was built in the 1820s by the Turner family. Surprisingly wheelchair accessible

They still have the original old lifts to transport heavy cotton. The lifts work and are spacious enough for a wheelchair to turn around in. It was great because the lifts felt like it added to the experience not took away from it. My powerchair could get around just fine but some of the flooring was a little uneven but didn’t effect me but might be be a problem depending on your wheelchair
