It is a showcase of products from various companies that you can explore. For 5 Euros, you can go on a one hour guided tour and learn how to make your home smarter and more efficient. There are many new products on display for those who are in wheelchairs, have disabilities, as well as those who like to simplify their lives. Some of these products are lights and curtains that are programmed to your needs, keyless entries, dishes that make cooking and eating easier, smart toilets, beds and kitchens, and much more. The neat thing about this place is it is full of things from various price ranges and budgets so you can get new ideas on how to simplify things in your home.

A paid parking garage with accessible parking can be accessed on Noorderkade. Look for the Media Markt signs. Het Slimste Huis Alkmaar is located in this complex. Parking is around 3 euros. An accessible elevator is will bring you from the parking garage to the entrance floor.

Tours can be booked in advanced at http://www.slimstehuisalkmaar.nl/. Three tours are offered Monday through Saturday at the following times: 12:30, 14:30 and 16:30 and include coffee and tea. The tours are mainly given in Dutch, so it is best to contact them in advance to arrange an English speaking tour. Also, they prefer having exact change with payment.
