Overall Rating
Good
Very good overall in terms of 'an inclusive feeling.' The St Georges's Hilton was recently built and is very accessible. Any adaptations have been integrated into the overall interior design and so are non obtrusive. It is a great place to socialise, have lunch and to have business meetings. It is often possible to spot a famous footballer or three ( not only English as well - I spotted Messi once!) One improvement I would make is to install a 'changing places' facility. See the accessible toilets section below - the FA are hopefully on the case!
Disabled Access In and Around
Good
It is very accessible. The lifts are very spacious and there is enough room to go forwards out of the lift. I have never actually stayed in the hotel - primarily using it for meetings and having lunch at the Crossbar Restaurant - however I am aware that there are 13 accessible rooms out of the total of 228. None of these 13 have a hoist but there is one available in the health club to allow entry to the pool.
Parking & Transport
Good
I have never had a problem parking here. There are 13 accessible car parking spaces and I have always found one. St George's is very near the main motorway systems.
Accessible Toilets
Good
There are 4 accessible toilets which satisfy standard building regulations for accessibility. None of these have a 'changing places' facility but the FA have told me that there are plans to create one in their area which will be open to the public. For your information the FA own the Hilton but it is managed by the Hilton group.
Staff
Excellent
Staff are excellent and have provided me with assistance over and above the norm. All have receive d & I training.
