    Unforgettable Holy Island

Lovely unique place where to stroll and immerse in history, nature and heritage all at once. This island in Northumberland is accessed via road only during low tide; here you can wander imbibing its unique peaceful atmosphere (especially during off-peak periods!) and visit the ruins of Priory where St Aidan and then St Cuthbert brought Christianity to the North of England and where the famous Lindisfarne Gospels where created; the small but interesting museum, the Parish Church where st Cuthbert had its resting place; further afield you can stroll up to the Castle or enjoy the view of Bamburgh from the harbour. Refreshments, shops and curiosities available in the village.
