Hotel du Vin Stratford-upon-Avon

Rang up in advance and got advice. In the end we booked a deluxe room because it had robes and a coffee machine. It also turned out to have a decent balcony with outdoor furniture. Chose a room near the stairs on the first floor in case of fire. A bit of a walk to the lift though. Our room had a walk in shower, but I was a bit nervous about slipping as the non slip bathmat was very small. We asked to borrow a stick on grab bar but they didn't have any. Apparently there are rooms that have them fitted. The base of the shower was stainless steel so it was quite slippy when wet. I held on to the glass partition edge when showering and used a flannel to get over the slippy part. I was very impressed they provided flannels. The room was very comfy with a sofa and the bed was large. We ate in the hotel both nights. There was a good choice of menu and the 5-7 slot suited us very well. It was a set meal with a range of choices at one price, depending how many courses you had. Wine service excellent. We enjoyed a drink in the cosy bar after we got back from the theatre. It's a lovely hotel, very clean, characterful and would stay there again.
