Accessible stay in Chester with good food

Fortunately we were able to use the single disabled parking bay at the hotel otherwise parking is off-site. We stayed two nights and left the car parked as we explored Chester walking with me in my manual wheelchair. We had two interconnecting rooms, one of which was an accessible room. This had plenty of room for my wheelchair. Enjoyed one evening meal and two breakfast sittings. The food and service were both good.

The ground floor area where reception, the bar and restaurant are located are level access and there was enough space to manoeuvre my wheelchair without difficulty.

The hotel is on the central Chester ring road. There is a drop-off lay-by at the front of the hotel. There is only one parking bay at the hotel; this is designated for disabled parking. Otherwise parking is off-site. We were fortunate to get this bay for our vehicle for the duration of our stay.

Accessible Toilets
Good
The bathroom in my accessible room was clean. The toilet had hand bars for support. The bathroom was a wet room configuration with a seated shower, again with support bars. There was a small basin by the toilet and a larger washbasin under the mirror.

Staff
Good
During our stay, the staff in the hotel were helpful and friendly. However, there was an after having paid for our stay with hotel mistakenly taking extra money after we’d left. This was refunded a day or so later.
Additional Information
Of Chester itself, this is a place well worth a visit with its Roman history and medieval architecture.
