Overview

Our stay was in room 213, on the ground floor. From reception to the bar, restaurant to bedroom is a level trip free roll. The staff all speak English and are both friendly and helpful. Standards are good in every respect. I did not use the pool or gym but I did enjoy an hour exploring the grounds.

Transport & Parking

There is a drop off point immediately outside the entrance with disabled parking within 25 metres. We travelled to Holland using EUROSTAR to Rotterdam then used a private Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle. Access

No steps, no need for a lift. An external door into the grounds was reassuring in case of fire. A hearing loop sign was on reception. A small but very helpful point is that the various room lights were all controllable by me while laid in bed. Access from bedroom to bathroom with bath, roll in shower, height adjustable basin was through a novel no handle or lockable door. Just roll in and out in your wheelchair. The shower chair is the best I have seen to date.

Toilets

In our bedroom was the best bathroom I have seen to date. The loo allows for a right hand transfer as you face it, and is well equipped with support bars. As the bedroom is close to the public areas I did not use any alternative loo.

Staff

From the restaurant manager to the bar staff all were pleasant and very disability aware. I am someone who tries to do as much as possible for myself, but staff offered to help me throughout our stay.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

The hotel is sensible priced around £ 80 per night for B&B for the two of us. St. Martin's Cathedral, Utrecht, or Dom Church is well worth a visit as are the cafes and bistros around the cathedral.
