Getting Here

The nearest railway station is Dunkeld and Birnam, which is 0.3 miles away (a 5-10 minute walk). Please note that this station has an unusually low platform and therefore it is a big step to get on or off a train. You will also need to climb a flight of steps if arriving on the northbound platform (platform 2). If walking from the station you will need to descend a shallow set of steps before taking the lane towards Birnam village. There is no taxi rank at the station but you can book a taxi in advance by ringing Marion on 07725 346 643 or Ian on 07419 115 736. • The nearest bus stop is 200m from Jessie Mac’s – ask the driver for the stop at Birnam Hotel. There are small shelters and seating. All buses can accommodate one wheelchair. The No. 23 Stagecoach bus runs to/from Birnam to Perth or Aberfeldy approximately hourly. The M90 Citylink bus stops at the same place although currently there is only one northbound (to Inverness) and two southbound services (to Edinburgh / Glasgow via Perth connection) each day.

Parking

There is free on-street parking on the main road outside the front of the property. The church immediately beside us has a disabled parking bay painted on the road for use by church goers on Sundays. It is generally empty. There are no other restrictions on parking there apart from in front of the Post Office which must be kept clear. There is a small kerb, although the area at the Post Office has a dropped kerb if you require to be dropped off there. The pavement is tarmac and fairly level. There is normal street lighting.
