Lovely independent bookshop

This was a really lovely, independent bookshop located in central Sheffield. It’s on a small street called Chapel Walk which has a collection of small shops of all different kinds. Juno Books had a bright white exterior with clear signage at the top with their name, and lots of interesting things on display in their windows. Inside, it was really colourful with all the different books on display. Around the edge of the shop was lots of shelving with many different types of books including fantasy, children’s, non-fiction and lots more. In the centre they had a number of display tables with lots of different types of books on show. They also had some smaller displays of other items, such as postcards and they even had a selection of secondhand books available. The member of staff who was in here was really lovely, they were chatty at first but also let me browse in peace when I wanted to. They were happy to assist with anything, such as reaching a book that was a bit too high or opening the door for me.
Disabled Access In and Around

The door to the shop opened inwards and was a little bit heavy. It had a slight lip at the bottom which I did slightly struggle with, but the staff member inside quickly came and held the door for me as I entered. Once inside, the flooring was a smooth linoleum and it was easy to push myself around. There was a decent amount of space to move between the displays but my manual wheelchair is quite small. Those with larger mobility aids might find that it may be a bit tighter to navigate. Some of the shelves were quite high but the staff were happy to help with reaching anything. The payment point was quite high, the counter was very much standing height. I didn’t end up buying anything this time but I’m sure the staff would do what they could to make that process simple and easy for someone who wasn’t able to reach that height.

Parking & Transport
Average
Due to its location in the centre of the city, I didn’t see any parking facilities close to this shop. The Cathedral tram stop is roughly 130 metres away from Juno Books and it offers trams on all four lines. The yellow services travel between Middlewood and Meadowhall. The blue services travel between Malin Bridge and Halfway. The black services travel between Cathedral and Parkgate. The purple services travel between Cathedral and Herdings Park. In almost the same location as the tram stop, there is also a bus stop called High Street (HS4) where you can get the buses 7a, 52, and 52a. Slightly further down the road is the High Street (HS5) stop where you can get the buses 51, 95, and SC1.
Accessible Toilets
There were no toilets at this location. Some of the closest toilet options that I visited were at Sheffield Cathedral, which is 180 metres from the shop, or Crucible Theatre which is 200 metres away and has a small Changing Places toilet.
Staff
The staff were really helpful and also very receptive to customer moods and needs. They were quick to assist me with the door when I arrived and left. They were happy to help me reach things. They were really friendly and were happy to chat but also were good at picking up when I wanted to browse by myself which I always appreciate.
