    Millennium Gallery, Sheffield

The Millenium gallery is located uphill from the bus and coach station. The doors are all level and automated, and a lift provides access from the entrance to the gallery floors. All galleries are level, and many have audio descriptions, large print guides, and sensory packs available for free. The winter garden has a few gentle slopes but is equally accessible, with handrails available for all ramps. Both coffee shops are accessible, albeit with slightly high counters. Staff are friendly and willing to provide any assistance required. A disabled bathroom is available.

Nice gallery with some Sheffield history

This small gallery has some interesting exhibits exploring some of Sheffield’s history and I found them really engaging. There was a mixture of display types, including labeled items, text displays, some displays had ambient sound to enhance what the display was depicting and there were some video exhibits too. It is free to enter the exhibit but they do have a suggested donation of £5 with some card reader points throughout. The exhibits were well-spaced and easy to navigate and most things were placed at a good level to see, even in a seated position. The building is on quite a steep hill and they have two different entrances, one at the base of the hill and the other at the top and a lift and escalators to travel between the two floors. I actually found the lift in the gallery was a useful way to avoid pushing myself up that hill! They also have a shop, café and toilet facilities including an accessible toilet and baby-changing facilities.
