    Sheffield's bus and coach station

Sheffield Interchange is a large bus and coach station where you can get National Express and Flixbus coaches, as well as bus services to locations around Sheffield. It’s set across three terminal buildings, with each terminal having stands on either side. It has around 33 bus stands in total, each with an identification marker which is one letter followed by a number, e.g. A1, B2, C3, etc. Each terminal building is covered and heated with automatic sliding doors at each stand and entrance. There is seating regularly interspersed throughout the buildings. Across the whole station there is a café, a WHSmith and an information desk. The café only took cash when I was there. The terminal building that had the stands beginning with D and E letters also had the accessible toilet. This building also had two different levels of bus stands with ramps between the two levels. The ramps were quite steep and slightly difficult to manage in my manual wheelchair. The entire station had step-free access with smooth flooring and automatic sliding doors. The floor was mainly tiled but at each main entrance there were mats or carpet placed to absorb water in bad weather. A number of zebra crossings gave level access between each terminal and the surrounding roads. It was quite a quiet station, I didn’t see any part of it particularly busy on the occasions I was there.
