La Rocque Harbour

I took a relative in a wheelchair to visit the Harbour Wall at La Roque . It is a relatively short distance out on the wall but at high tide is an ideal way to get close to the water. The walkway is largely a smooth tarmac style surface with a 25 metre section of rough cobble style stones. The chair was ok over them although the front wheels did catch on the bigger stones. Blue badge parking and a no 1 bus stop are both close by . Although the biggest challenge for a wheelchair is the gradient of the slipway down to the walk. Ok going down but for going back up it took a helpful passer by to help push the chair up to the round. Either make sure your wheelchair pusher has been working out or have a second person on hand to help with the push. It’s only about 20 metres but a bit steep. There are also public toilets with a single step up them but roomy enough was inside
