Holidays on a Farm in two purpose designed Log Cottages, for wheelchair users and their families. These are inspected by Visit England and are awarded Access Exceptional and 4* Gold. Jane & Stuart have been providing accommodation for disabled guests for 19 years and aim for 'Holidays for All' by quality and accessibility. The unusual Norwegian style Log cottages with grass roofs are eco-friendly and blend into the country setting, ideal for watching wildlife and birds and of course lambs in the spring. The small hamlet of Mitchelland is between Crook and Bowness-on-Windermere, but only 3 miles from the largest lake in England. Great accessible Wild Boar Inn only 200yds away, nothing is too much trouble for their guests.

First Light Cottage, Excellent cottage

Excellent facilities which met and exceeded our expectations. Everything you needed for the less able bodied within our party. Nothing was too much trouble. They even recommended True Care Domicillary Care who also were excellent and provided a fantastic service.

Exceptional Accommodation

This accessible lodge was amazing. Exceptionally well equipped for people with disabilities without a clinical feel, also friendly and very helpful owners. Basically can't praise it enough.

Disabled Access at Lake District Disabled Holidays

Flat parking with very gentle wide ramp to wide front door. All areas on one level with wide doors. Large wet-room and extra bathroom. One Hi-Lo profile bed in each bungalow. Open plan lounge with 'riser/recliner' electric chair for comfort and kitchen has extra sink and hob at lower wheelchair level. Hoist, shower-chair, perching stool and other equipment is available most weeks at no cost. There is level decking with access from french windows or from entry ramp.

There is private parking outside the bungalows, near the entry ramp. One bungalow has parking for a large van or two cars and room for side or back ramp to car or van..

The accessible toilets are in the wet-room. Space for a mobile hoist, with full grab-rails shower with curtain. Entrance door is wide for an electric wheelchair.
