The terminal building is a small waiting area with an accessible toilet and a wooden bench lining the wall. Whilst it is perfectly serviceable, there is a brewery and restaurant just behind it that may offer a more pleasant place to sit, particularly in good weather. There is not much that is remarkable about this location, but it does the job.

There is a short ramp with a rail to the left leading to a manual door at the entrance. The waiting area is spacious and has a long wooden bench lining the wall but is otherwise pretty unremarkable. The large windows in the building mean lighting levels may fluctuate. There are no alternative formats in use.

Accessible facilities: Single-level venue, Step-free entrance, Seating at regular intervals

    Parking & Transport

    Good

I travelled to this place by personal vehicle

Whilst there is only one accessible parking space, the parking and transport facilities are quite good. There are additional standard spaces and two EV bays. There are three loading lanes for the ferry but no bus stop, as far as I can see.

Accessible facilities: Electric Vehicle Charging, Dedicated on-site parking, Drop-off or pick up point

    Accessible Toilets

This toilet is for use by everyone, it just happens to be accessible too. The door opens outwards and does not require a RADAR key. The door is secured from the inside by raising the handle. The toilet pan has a soft backrest and matching white grab rails on either side. There is a shelf above the toilet, though toilet paper is stacked on this in a pyramid shape, meaning it cannot be used for anything else unless you move the rolls. There is space for a right-side transfer but it is tight due to the bin in the space. The flush is set back on the wall and raised, and due to the boxed-in section to the rear of the pan, it is further away than it should be. I expect some wheelchair users will have difficulty reaching it. The sink has a small basin and lever-style mixer tap. There is a single rail to the right of the sink and a mirror above, which is too high for its purpose. There is no emergency cord, which is both frustrating and dangerous. There is space for a manual wheelchair or powerchair user but scooter users may have difficulty.

    Facilities: Accessible toilet

    Additional Information

The accessible parking space is free to use. The EV chargers are challenging to use for those using mobility aids. These will be reviewed separately.
