Overview

To mark a 'big' birthday for my wife plus our wedding anniversary, we decided on a couple of days stay on the tidal island of Lindisfarne, otherwise known as Holy Island, Accessible accommodation is limited on the Island but we found a superb room at the Lindisfarne hotel and were very well looked after by Sean.

Transport & Parking

This venue had it's own cark park, plus a ramp at the door which was in place for the duration of our stay. This made our coming and going very easy.

Access

I used my power chair for the duration of our stay. I had plenty of room to move about in our room/wetroom. For breakfast we were given a table which I accessed easily with my wheelchair. In the village, I found the paths very accessible. Likewise at the Ship Inn, where we ate in the evening, we were shown levelmaccess to the dining room. When we were visiting the priory, we were shown an accessible entrance and assiated by a very helpful member of staff/volunteer.

Toilets

The loo in my room was superb, with rails on either side and plenty of room for my chair. The was an accessible loo in the car park which was for busses and blue badge holders, but I had no need to use it.

Staff

We only met the proprietor, Sean, who was very welcoming, Jolly and helpful. My only slightly negative comment would be to ask him to tone down his exuberance at Breakfast time. Perhaps it was just that my brain not being fully awake to cope.

COVID restrictions seem to have relaxed somewhat, although we are still careful
