Overview
Given it's the 200th anniversary of the Stockton to Darlington Railway and we were in the area, it was a must to visit. It has some great engines, it's free, and has a changing place! There is a footpath to see the exterior of the old railway buildings like Timothy Hackworth's house, and when we visited Flying Scotsman was also there.
Transport & Parking
We came by car, and there are loads of disabled spaces. Shildon Station is about half a mile away and is accessible by a level footpath
Access
Entrance was easy, as the building is modern, and we level inside, there are ramped areas to see the carriages more easily and I did need assistance to get up these from a family member.
Toilets
There is a changing place at the back of the main hall
Staff
Staff were friendly and helpful, especially the volunteers
