Long Hazel Park

High Street, Yeovil, BA22 7JH, United Kingdom | 01963440002 | Website

Venue Description

We are an adult only (18+) touring caravan and camping park situated in South Somerset. We run on 50 pitches for caravans, motorhomes, RVs, fifth wheels and tents and have two self-catering lodges for hire, one which is fully adapted for wheelchair users. We are open all year round.

Accessibility

We are a very level park, so much so that Sparkford used to use us as their football pitch! At 3.5 acres, we are also quite small, so you are never very far from the toilets or the Reception. Our road is a double lane entrance, wide enough for even the biggest motorhomes and RVs. The Reception is at the entrance to the park, with ramps for access and railings to hold on to. The doorways are wide enough to fit a wheelchair. Some of our road is tarmac, the rest is compacted gravel and has been tried and tested by many wheelchair users. We are able to pitch tents both on gravel and grass, depending on which you would prefer. We have picnic tables all over the park with one particularly made for wheelchair users to sit under alongside non-wheelchair users. Please let us know if you would like this on your pitch when you book. All pitches have 16 amp electric hook-up and are available to charge mobility scooters, included in your pitch fee.

Staff

We have personal experience with disability as two of the team have experienced neurological conditions (mini stroke and MS). Managing an invisible condition in the family has increased our awareness of needs and hurdles to overcome in our facilities. We have ensured that accessible facilities are suitable for standing and seating disabilities and you will never need to explain to us why you need our accessible facilities. We moved to Long Hazel Park in 1997 and have accommodated a huge range of guests with disabilities: invisible illnesses, learning difficulties, mental health problems, wheelchair users and everything in between. As an adult only park, we find that our customers are very understanding and grown-up about people with differences to themselves and we strive to provide a safe haven for everyone. All staff are learning some basic sign language and would love if you would teach us new words too!
