This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Wheelchair
Overview
I recently went to see The Lion King accompanied by my husband and 2 grown up children, I was in a wheelchair and had booked a wheelchair space. I was very pleased to find that not only did I get 1 free carer, but my ticket was half price. We went to the matinee performance on a Wednesday afternoon.
Transport & Parking
We went by train to Charing Cross which is only a 10-15 minute walk to the theatre.
Access
When we got to the theatre there were staff members outside who directed us to a side door and called a member of the accessibility team to meet us. Once inside our guide showed us around pointing out the disabled toilets and and the step free access to the bar. We were then shown to our seats, I actually transferred from my wheelchair to the seat but could have sat in the wheelchair if I needed to. Someone took the wheelchair and stored it safely until I needed it. The staff were all extremely helpful.
Toilets
There were 2 accessible toilets which were clean, had grab rails and room for my wheelchair.
Staff
All the staff were helpful, particularly the girl from the accessibility team, whose name I have sadly forgotten!
