Overview

We were greeted at the door and taken straight to our box, the lady showed us where the toilet was and offered to go and get drinks for us, she couldn't have been more helpful. The theatre has 3 accessible seats in the side boxes, you can either transfer to a non armed chair or they will move it so you can stay in your chair. It is a side on view so you need to look to your left for the entire performance and it is a restricted view of the stage, but still such a nice change having easy access to an old theatre. The down side is the 'fully adapted toilet', it has a widened door, grab rails and a lowered sink but wheelchair users will struggle to even get in. The very narrow toilet area was blocked by a large nappy disposal bin, I tried to shove it to the side of the toilet but it wouldn't fit, my husband managed to reach over & lift it over my head. Once I got to the toilet I couldn't reach the grab rails as they were recessed in a corner and the toilet was also slightly in the recess. If you have some mobility you might manage but no chance if you need a side transfer or assistance. You can't even use the lowered sink as it is now behind you and there is no turning space. This spoiled an otherwise excellent evening.
