The venue itself is very accessible with lifts to the first and second floor, and the staff are very helpful. There seemed to several accessible toilets. I'm not sure about parking as we walked there with the wheelchair, however it is a little awkward as there are cobbles and right outside tram lines which one of the wheelchair wheels slipped into, so not the best for mobility en route to the entrance,

This is a museum right on the dock which is all about the history of Bristol. Accessibility has clearly been a priority for this venue and you can see that both in the information on their website and when you’re there. The staff were great and really engaging. The entrances are both step-free and there is lift access to all floors, assistance dogs are welcome and the venue has a hearing loop too. There is a Changing Places Toilet and another accessible toilet with baby-changing facilities. There are so many great accessibility features here, I’ve gone into more detail about it all down below. And they are clearly continuing to see where they can do even more.

This Changing Places Toilet does have the important features for these toilets but it’s a lot smaller than you would normally find. There is a height-adjustable bench and a portable hoist but these are in quite a cramped space. With the bench folded down it would make using the hoist tricky. It wouldn’t be impossible to use these facilities but for those that also have a large, electric wheelchair, it would become very difficult to use the facilities and also manage with the space provided. As the hoist is portable it can also be moved around to transfer someone onto the toilet but again, the space could make navigating this difficult.
